Save 25% off your drives

A lot of my readers have been buying up the GX2 Square driver and fairway woods and adding distance to their drives. The one thing most noticeable when you address the ball with it is the ease of aiming the clubface to where you want to hit the ball. With a relatively light shaft and a soft grip, the takeaway is smooth and effortless. You really feel a difference at the top of the backswing because of the overall weight of the club. The result is a faster clubhead speed which translates to more distance. I can’t recommend this club enough and with the coupon that is valid for 5 days, you can get it for 15% less. Already at an incredible price, you can save 15% or about $15. The better golfers will use the money towards upgrading the shaft or to get a better grip. Gigagolf has a great selection of shafts and grips for you to choose from.

Another great driver is the PowerMax TRX. I like the finish on the head but others like the thin face on it. They recommend the UST HDX 70 shaft that ranges in weight depending upon your swing speed. If you are unsure, go to Gigagolf’s site and enter your driving distance. They have the shaft eFit calculator onboard to determine the shaft flex for you. Or if you have been fitted for clubs then ask your clubfitter. With the coupon, you can save 25% off the regular price.

The Clone Wars

Oh am I ever tempted on paying just $59 for a Taylor-Made Burner look-a-like. There is an Alien Ultimate driver that looks just like the Burner, same look, same colors, same everything. The three things that won’t know the difference is the long ball I’m going to hit, my wallet because it will contain more dollars in it and my friends who will have a jaw-dropping experience. There’s a lot of clone drivers out there that can save you a  lot of money. Most of the good ones that I see resemble the real things but I hear they don’t give off the same sound. That’s ok for some clubs like the Nike Sumo that gives off a loud thud, as though you hit a rock. I think people like to hear that crisp metal sound. Remember when the Callaway C4 made its debut? It was a good club and could hit the ball a long way but no one liked the sound of it when you hit a ball. It also gave off a loud thud, like a baseball bat to a softball. Another advantage to buying a clone driver is that you won’t feel bad about shelling out the dollars for it, especially when it fails to work for you. It’s easier to throw aside a $50 club than it is for a $500 club.If you’re interested in buying a clone, be sure to visit www.goplaygolf.com this week as we will be featuring and reviewing some good clone clubs for under $100.
